Nakuru - Wednesday 20th Jan

Rest day today so slept in and then headed off to town mid morning to the local shopping mall to do some emails, blog at the coffee shop and shopping for the next week.

Jo had read about some local restaurants so we choose one called the Hygenic Butcher so we headed off there. We had the lamb stew for lunch with lots of other locals

Not the most flattering photo I must say.

Post lunch we walked to the local gift sellers and were the only westerners there so got lots of attention. Jo made a special friend who kept saying " hi it's me again" who trailed her for about 1 km and she finally brought some picture cards off " hi it's me again".Headed back to the shopping mall to pick the car up and head back to the camping ground and past the local local knife sharpener ad converted a push bike

They have a very good local transport system here with the Matutu's which are hiace vans being the main form of transport on the main road . They have one guy who is the tout for customers and they are frequently pulling over to pick people up and they have their own road rules which is do anything they want.

If you have a bit of a way to travel back home after being dropped off by the vans then you get the local motor bike guys to ferry you to your house

Here's one with a special purpose umbrella for when it rains.

Lazy afternoon at the camp site then dinner which was interrupted by a large rain shower
