Bridge Camp,Luangwa to Eureka Campsite , Lusaka - Thursday 11th Feb

Headed off early at 7.30am this morning for the short drive of 250kms which should take about 5 hours to hit the capital of Zambia which  has about 1.7m people and connects the 4 main roads of Zambia.Just around the corner was the local craft market
Very few cars on the road mainly semitrailers carting gear out of Lasaka. Roads side stalls of charcoal and kids with mushrooms again
Had to stop at the Tsetse fly control checkpoint after about 100kms for the guy with the fly catcher to inspect our vehicle to see if we were harbouring any illegal tsetse flies. They mustn't be able to fly past the check themselves!!

Arrived at the campsite which is about 10 kms from the Lasaka CBD just after lunch which was good as driving after 3pm is basically at a stand still.

Found a nice shady site beside Amanda's kitchen to set up

Wasn't long enforce before the lawn movers arrived

An overland truck with a few group we saw in Chipata a couple of days prior pulled up
Later in the afternoon we were treated to a visit by the resident giraffes- very cool
Amanda made a superb entire of smoked salmon, toasted French bread with pesto and cheese ( done on charcoal fire) and fruit followed by beer battered fish and salad for mains.
