Livingstone - Monday 14th Feb

Denis picked us up at 8.30 am to take us to Livingstone Hotel for our short ride to Livingstone Island by dingy
Lvingstone is the island is the middle green bit below

We will spend about 90 minutes on the island with a short history talk then walk and swim out at the falls edge and then followed by breakfast.Jo choose not to come out to this spot. We hadn't even been in for a swim however we were totally drenched from the spray.
So close to the edge of the falls
We then walked over to Angel pools for a quick photo followed by a swim

Joey wasn't keen to stray too far from the side as the current was very strong and the edge was only 2 metres away- not sure this would pass the OH+S test at home
Just behind us is the edge of the waterfall
Here's Joey getting out with a grip of death with our guides hand and the edge a metre away

After the pool we went back to dry off and have breakfast of bacon and eggs benedict before leaving the island- what a great experience it was to be so close to the edge.

Denis dropped us back to camp with Jan arriving shortly after with Steph who had  been to town to get the rear step rewelded and the tyre replaced from the blow out the other day.

Had lunch and then headed into town quickly to get some ice,OJ and water in between a huge tropical afternoon thunderstorm. It's like living in Mission Beach as you can set your watch for the afternoon shower- we are actually on the same latitude as just below Cairns so not surprising about the afternoon showers.
Amanda was making roast beef and veggies for dinner tonight so due to the possibility of more rain she moved the cooking inside and instead of engine food we are having wheel barrow food tonight
Another great meal and spent the night reflecting  on the terrific 3 action packed days we had spent in Livingstone
