Citrusdal to Cape Town- Sunday 6th March

A very lazy start to the day given we only had about 170 kms to drive .

This will be the last oil and water check on Steph
Last pack down of the tent
And last daily road trip talk by Jan

We had traveled quite a way form Nairobi to Cape Town as Jan displays below on his map

Out the door just after 9 am for the short drive to Cape Town

Along the drive there was a lot of people hitch hiking with a twist- they pay and they hold the amount of money in their hand

Arrived into our hotel about 11.30 which is just 500 metres away for the Victoria and Alfred waterfront area.we had how made the 11,000 odd km drive from Nairoi to Cape Towm over the last 8 weeks

We couldn't check in until 2pm so we headed to the V+A shops to change some money into a brick of blue Buffaloes
then have lunch at a local Japanese restaurant. Returned home for Joey to have an afternoon nap whilst I organised our stuff that had been housed in Steph over the last 8 weeks. The porters and security guards hit the jackpot today as I gave away excess items we couldn't fit or didn't need for the next part of our holiday and then try and figure out how we would carry all the things we had purchased during the trip.

We headed back down to the V+A to catch up with Amanda and Jan for drinks and dinner followed by the short walk home and bed in amongst all the chaos form the cycle tour that they had over the weekend that brought an extra 50000 people( 35000 registered riders) into the area.
