Orange River to Citrusdal,Kardoesie Campsite - Saturday 5th March

We had a long driving day of about 500kms to get to the campsite just out of Citrusdal as we are now  transiting our way to Cape Town. Given the overnight heat we were up early and out the campsite at 7.30am on the last gravel road for this part of the trip-ya!!

Lots of roadworks along the way with not much other than desert scenery and continual stopping for the 1 way traffic.

We had a brief stop off in Springbok at the local Spar and to get a couple of SIM cards for South Africa which as usual wasn't the quickest process.

After a long day of driving we approached Citrusdal which as it suggests is a very big citrus growing district along the river to arrive at our campsite overlooking the valley below

Quickly set up the tent as it looked like we we going to get an afternoon shower

However just s few spits so we set up the chairs for a relaxing drink overlooking the valley and beautiful sunset followed by dinner and bed for our last night of camping.
